I’ve looked through the new catalog a few times and I’ve created “my favourite new things” list.  Leave a comment and let me know what your favourites are, and I’ll plan an “our favourite new things” class for the Fall.  Contact me if you’d like a copy of the new catalogue. or you can browse my online store.

Stamps

  • Circle circus (115778, page 129). At first I passed over this set, but after seeing samples using this set it’s growing on me.
  • Animal Stories (116716, page 88). Isn’t the elephant just adorable? And the coordinating paper is pretty cute too (Tall Tales, 115678, page 161).
  • Razzle Dazzle (116714, page 94). With some water colour wonder crayons, I’m sure that you can make some spectacular multi-colour stamped images with the large flower. I also like the “striped” stamp for background images and borders.
  • Pirate Party Kit and Pirate Time (116213, 116718, page 74). I love this set.  Now I just need to convince one little boy to have a Pirate-themed birthday party.  Also great to create loot for International Talk Like A Pirate Day parties…Arrrr! (Check out the Princess Party Kit on page 75 is if there’s a little princess with an upcoming birthday in your home.)
  • Medallion (115223, page 133) and Woodgrain (117100, page 133). I’ve never owned a background stamp, because they’ve never really appealed to me.  But I fell in love with these two stamps as soon as I saw them.  Imagine the possibilities!

Hostess sets

  • Christmas Punch (level 2, item 115366, page 14). Hands down this is the one hostess set that I “need” to get this year. The stamps coordinate with most of the punches (pages 186-187), and will make lots of gift tags. I can see myself using the snowflake stamp a lot. Contact me if you want to learn how to earn this hostess set (or any of the other hostess sets on pages 12-18).

Paper – You know that I LOVE paper (perhaps to a fault?).

  • Cottage Wall (item 115671, page 160) is hand down my new favourite designer series paper. The combination of old olive, rich razzleberry and orchid opulence (a colour which I don’t think I’ve ever used) is fantastic! There are several samples on page 106 featuring this colour combo. (photos)
  • Wedding Specialty Paper (page 158, items 115669, 116478, 116479) is fantastic! I’ll definitely be using this paper in some upcoming (non-wedding) projects. (Maybe it’s time to start working on my wedding scrapbook from many years ago?)

Accessories (my favourite section of every catalogue)

  • Playground Buttons (item 116313, page 181) – The colours are fantastic. Now it’s time for me to stop hoarding and start using my accessories.
  • Polka-dot 1/2″ ribbon (page 182) – I’m a big fan of the new incolours (particularly rich razzleberry and soft suede), and the new in-colour ribbon is fantastic. If polka-dots aren’t right for your project, turn the ribbon over and you’ve got “plain” 1/2″ ribbon.

Tip – Have you noticed all the technique and product tips throughout the catalogue?

  • Twill Tape Tip (page 52) – I’ve had twill tape for a while, and never really used it. The stamped ribbon around the mug is fantastic! I’m going to have to try this sooner rather than later.

Happy  crafting!
