Stamping with kids

I had a blast stamping with the kids (2-5 year olds) earlier this week.

Valentines cards were the first project. Stamps, ink, and paper is all you need! We used the Love you much stamp set and rose red ink.  I learned that:

1. stamping with the wooden block (inking up the non-rubber side of the stamp) is all that a 2 year old needs,

and

2. the Crimper (item 101618) is a great reward (…err bribe) to get a 4 year old to sign the valentines cards for his class mates. (The conversation went something like this… “no honey you can’t crimp first, you need to write your name before you make each card wavy!” It worked like a charm; we had 20 cards signed in  no time, once the crimper bribe was on the table.)

After the Valentines were stamped, it was time to get out the Big Shot. We used the Build a Flower die, fun foam and tortilla shells, straws, bamboo skewers, brads and fruit gummies to make some edible flowers and some more durable flowers to bring a touch of spring to the dining room table.

Making a how-to video for these projects is on my to-do list.  Let me know if you want to see it sooner, rather than later, and I’ll put it higher on the (never ending?) to-do list.

Happy Valentines day!
