Wow, it’s hard to believe, but there’s only one week left until SewFest West 2010. I’ll be demonstrating today’s project share and other fabric Big Shot projects on April 30 and May 1 at Bingeman’s. SewFest West is a public event for people who love needle arts such as sewing, quilting, embroidering, beading, embellishing, stitching, dyeing and felting to name just a few. You can get all the event details on the SewFest West 2010 blog. I hope to see you there.
I’ve mentioned before how much I love the Timeless Type alphabet set (for canister labels here and here and scrapbook pages). This was my first try at cutting fabric letters with this alphabet set and the Big Shot. I think it turned out well!
To make your own custom t-shirt you’ll need
- Big Shot
- Timeless Type alphabet set
- Iron on fabric adhesive (I used Therm O Web Heat n Bond)
- T shirt
- Cotton fabric for the letters.
- You’ll need to iron the adhesive onto the back of the cotton fabric (per the manufacturer’s directions).
- Run the fabric through the Big Shot just as you would if you were cutting card stock.
- Layout your letters on the shirt and iron. If you want to get fancy, you could applique the letters on (but I don’t know how to hand sew to applique, so I just ironed).
By the way “Princess Peanut” is the nickname we gave my daughter when she was born because she was so little.
Happy crafting!
