Wedding and Bridal Shower cards

Here are two cards I made for a customer who needed a wedding and bridal shower cards. The couple’s wedding colours are black, red and white, which was an easy colour pallet for me to work with. (Here are some other favourites in the same colours: Scrapbook layout, Circle Circus card).

The shower card uses a retired stamp set She’s All That. The card base is 4.25″x4.25″ and the bride image is added to the front of the card base to bring the height of the card to 5.5 inches (so it’ll fit in a standard envelope).  I was almost done and knew that the card needed “a little something” along the bottom, but brads, ribbons, and grommets were too much. The paper piercing finished the card off nicely (I need to remind myself that simpler is often better).

The wedding card is a gate fold card. I started with a piece of card stock that was 11×4.25″ and scored it at 2.75″ in from each end. I added the flocked paper from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper (2009 Holiday Mini) to the front and used the Warm Words stamp set and whisper White organza ribbon (so pretty!) to attach the center panel to the front. I do hope that the flocked paper comes back when the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalogue launches on July 1 (it’s too pretty to be just for Christmas).

Here’s a heads up. Tomorrow will likely be a triple post Tuesday. Why you ask. Well there’s

  • a new mini starter kit that will be unveiled tomorrow,
  • the last chance stamp sets will post tomorrow, and
  • last chance accessories will post tomorrow.

If you want any of the colours that are retiring as part of the colour renovation, be sure to place your order soon – now there’s a few colours that are totally out of stock for markers and card stock
