Becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator
FAQ
If you’ve got questions about joining my team, please contact me! I’d be happy to spend time with you to answer your questions and help you determine if this is the right opportunity for you – right now. In the meantime, here’s the answers to some frequently asked questions.
What does a demonstrator do?
When I go to work every day, I get to share my love of crafting! I get to paper craft, scrapbook, or make cards while supplementing our household income. When I started I just wanted to get back to crafting and purchase my supplies at a discount. Over time, my goals have changed and now I’m working on building a business. No matter what your goals, joining the Stampin’ Up! family is a great opportunity!
If you’re “not crafty”, no worries! There are so many sources of inspiration (and projects to copy and share). Stampin’ Up! publishes a monthly demonstrator magazine that is full of ideas and tutorials, plus there’s a tonne of projects on the demonstrator-only website. Not to mention the thousands of projects that demonstrators share daily on their blogs.
If you’d like, you can watch this First Impressions video about becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.
What are the benefits of being a demonstrator?
Here’s the four major benefits.
- Product Discount. Demonstrators receive a 20% discount on all Stampin’ Up! products.
- Extra Income. You earn income based on your personal sales and your recruiting efforts. You may be looking to earn enough money to pay for a small purchase or saving for something larger. It’s up to you!
- Flexible Schedule. This is your business so you can put as much or as little time as you want.
- Support. Stampin’ Up! provides lots of resources for demonstrators (a monthly magazine, workshop ideas, lots of training on the demonstrator website). Also, you’re a member of the A Creative Bunch team of demonstrators. We share successes, provide encouragement, swap ideas and craft together.
Personally, the discount, the income, the flexibility and support from Stampin’ Up! and my team are great. But to me, the most important aspect of my Stampin’ Up! journey is the people. Because of Stampin’ Up! I’ve met lots of talented people (both customers and demonstrators) who share my love of crafting. I know that I ‘m creating relationships, that will become life-long friendships.
Stampin’ Up! doesn’t have a mission statement. Instead, they have a Statement of the Heart which sums up why I’m with Stampin’ Up!
“To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments…in this we make a difference.”
What do I need to do to become a demonstrator?
If you know you’d like to join the Stampin’ Up! family, you can sign up online or we can meet and fill out the paperwork together and mail it in, your choice!
First you need to decide if you’re going to order the standard starter kit (supplies listed below), or a promotional starter kit (which are offered from time to time). Then you need to decide which items you’d like in your starter kit. You can take the starter kit “as is”, or you may substitute some of the stamping supplies for items of equal or lesser value.
The starter kit contains the essentials you’ll need to get started in your new business. It includes:
- Five complete stamp sets
- A Stampin’ Around wheel, handle, and ink cartridge
- Stampin’ Pastels
- Card stock
- Eastern Blooms Décor Elements and applicator tool
- Five Classic Stampin’ Pads
- VersaMark Pad
- Stampin’ Scrub and Mist
- Blender pens
- Business forms and tools
I hope that answers some of your questions. Please feel free to contact me if you have additional questions or concerns, or if I can be of further assistance.
I look forward to crafting with you!
Tanya
